At St. Cecilia Community Learning Centre, we welcome passionate volunteers from around the world to contribute their skills, time, and enthusiasm to our mission of providing quality education and holistic development opportunities to students in rural Kenya.
Areas Where You Can Contribute
1. Teaching
Volunteers can support our teaching efforts by engaging with the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC), contributing to the implementation of new teaching methodologies, and helping to enrich classroom experiences. If you are passionate about education, your innovative ideas and skills can help us elevate our standards and empower students to learn in ways that inspire creativity and critical thinking.
2. Support to Management
As a volunteer, you can assist our management team in various key areas such as:
Strategic planning for sustainable development.
Internal generation activities to support our financial independence.
Policy development to improve strategic management.
Building partnerships with like-minded organizations to amplify our impact.
If you have experience or an interest in these areas, your contributions will play a crucial role in strengthening our institution and ensuring its long-term sustainability.
3. Skills Development Programs
We run various vocational training programs in: fashion and design, plumbing, carpentry, masonry, electrical installation, and food innovation. Volunteers can:
Share skills and expertise in one of these fields.
Help professionalize and expand the programs by building partnerships and refining curricula.
Contribute to policy development for program organization, including graduation ceremonies and extracurricular activities to enrich students’ experiences.
Your input can help us create a dynamic environment where young people gain marketable skills and are better prepared for employment opportunities.
4. Ecotourism and Environmental Engagement
St. Cecilia is located near the renowned Lake Nakuru, a hub for biodiversity and environmental conservation. Our institution places a strong emphasis on environmental education, making this an ideal space for individuals and groups interested in learning and exchanging ideas about sustainable practices.
Whether you’re volunteering for a short or long term, or simply visiting the area, we invite you to:
Group visits and exchanges: If you’re visiting Lake Nakuru as part of a tour group or trip, we welcome you to visit our institution. Such exchanges enrich both our community and yours, fostering mutual understanding and potential collaboration.
Support environmental initiatives: Participate in our programs that focus on conservation and environmental awareness, helping us inspire the next generation of environmentally conscious leaders.
Combine volunteering with exploration: Engage with our community while enjoying the unique ecosystem of Lake Nakuru.
